Social media is playing a BIG part in the Summer Olympics this year. A great a deal of information is going to be sent and shared about how different athletes and teams are doing in the many, many sports being played there. Social media will play a bigger role than ever in keeping up with who won what in which event. With Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other such websites and software will have allowed spreading news to countless people easier than ever.

Here we are going to look at how social media is effecting and will affect how people keep up with the many happenings at the Summer Olympics. As you will see, there’s a good bit you can learn about wins, losses, and stats without having to be there or watch it on TV (which will be a little difficult thanks to scheduling and broadcasts being so long).
